Hi! I’m Kari.

I’m a Queer Therapist.

I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker.

Pronouns: she/her/hers

I’m passionate about supporting LGBTQIA+ folks to lead fulfilling lives as their authentic selves.

As a result of coming out in an unwelcoming environment over 20 years ago, I’ve experienced fear of rejection and shame related to my identities.

I’ve struggled to feel confident in my own skin.

I’ve felt anxious or uncertain.

I’ve wanted to seek deeper connections with others.

I’ve felt anger at individuals and oppressive systems.

Over these 20+ years, I’ve gone through a personal journey of self exploration, psychological growth and deep healing.

This journey has led me to embrace all parts of myself, and as a result, I’ve experienced great joy and self love.

I’ve learned new ways to deal with the challenges life throws at me.

And, I’ve come to understand that the journey continues, as we all continue to grow and change throughout our lives.

My greatest passion is accompanying others on their own journey while they create the life they want to live.

My Approach

I am warm and relational. I work from an anti-oppressive and intersectional framework. Some of the types of therapy that inform my therapeutic work are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Harm Reduction, Internal Family Systems, Motivational Interviewing, Narrative Therapy, and Solution Focused Therapy.
